In celebration of Women’s Month, we bring you award-winning artist, associate member of the Women Artists of the West, a member of the American Women Artists, and American Impressionists Society, Kathleen Frank.
Born and raised in Northern California, where Kathleen earned a BA in Design and a K-12 teaching credential from San Jose State University. Frank taught art in California, Colorado and Pennsylvania and earned a MA in Printmaking from the Pennsylvania State University in 1993.
Ten years after, she co-founded the Printmakers Studio Workshop of Central Pennsylvania where she conducted classes and workshops in which, continued running until 2006. She also specialised in woodcarving and fabric printing for many years which has also inspired her to paint.
The artist gathers her inspiration from scenes she’d pick out while walking her corgis through the trails of California and New Mexico, creating beautiful and colourful landscapes of textured brush strokes.
Kathleen recently had an exhibition at one of the galleries she represents, the Jane Hamilton Fine Art in Tucson, Arizona, entitled, “One if by Land, Two if by Land”.
Frank will also be participating in the 36th Annual International Exhibition at the Meadows Gallery at the University of Texas, Tyler. While a feature press coverage due in Monk Magazine, London. Her works may also be seen in an issue of Borrowed Solace, and The MacGuffin in Michigan.
